NINJŌ

Synopsis
In a stylish contemporary Japanese underworld of rival hierarchical Houses, a young woman born into the Kuroda arrives to visit the elderly woman she has quietly loved for years and finds her dying in the arms of a man she has only seen in passing while recognising her own brother as the one who killed her.
The Hook
Ninjō follows Mizuki, daughter of the Kuroda house, and Jiro, son of the rival Kazama house, a relationship that should not exist inside a decades-long blood feud between two Tokyo crime families. Around them: Ryota, Mizuki’s volatile brother whose private rage threatens to detonate the fragile peace; Shigeru and Takeshi, the two ageing house heads who remember exactly why the houses don’t mix; and Anzu, the one person both houses still treat as family, whose death becomes the fracture point neither side can walk back from. Bond born from trauma, private rage held in check by love until it isn’t.
